Timo Glock a Virgin istálló pilótája a csapat fejlesztéseitől előrelépést vár a július 11-i silverstone-i Brit Nagydíjon. A német versenyző idén eddig mindössze két alkalommal fejezett be futamot, de reméli, a folytatásban jobb mutatói lesznek, és csapata a legjobb újoncként zárja a szezont.

"Silverstone-ban jelentős előrelépést várok az új fejlesztésektől, de a fejlesztési munkával utána sem állhatunk le. Glock a Virginben jelenleg egy pozitívumot lát, ami nem más, mint a Cosworth motorjainak ereje, de a jó teljesítményű erőforrás nem elég a pontszerzésre.
"Jelenleg messze járunk egy esetleges pontszerzéstől, de ha Silverstone-ra egy mágikus fejlesztést kapnánk, akkor talán álmodozhatnánk, de reális esélyeink nincsenek"- fejezte be Glock.

Timo Glock hopes that the upgrade that Virgin Racing has scheduled for the British Grand Prix is big enough to help renew belief in the team's ambitions to finish as the best of the new outfits this year.
After a difficult opening part to the campaign, dogged by reliability problems and dramas surrounding the team's fuel tank, Virgin has delivered some more encouraging performances in recent races - but is still some way off the opposition.
Glock himself believes that the development rate needs to be ramped up - with hopes high about the package of upgrades scheduled for the British GP.
"We've made a step in the right direction but we still need more," Glock told AUTOSPORT. "I hope we make a big step in Silverstone, where a new upgrade comes - and we will see what is possible then.
"But we have to develop more the car. The car is far too heavy, and mechanically and aerodynamically we are just not where we should be.
"For sure the first three months of the year cost us a lot of development time with all the updates we had. The updates are now coming, but they are little steps and we need more. That is where we have to improve.
"Mechanically the car is really, really bad over bumps and we have to improve. We don't have the spec like the others, or what I had at Toyota, and that would bring us a good step in the right direction."
When asked what timeframe he believed it would take for Virgin to score a point on pure merit, Glock said: "In a real race, we are far away. At the moment, if we get a magic upgrade for Silverstone which we need then maybe, but realistically not."
Glock said one of the positives of Virgin Racing is the Cosworth engine - which he says he has been impressed with.
"I have to say I was quite surprised by the Cosworth engine," he said. "In terms of power it is pretty good, and I am quite happy with it."

A Kanadai Nagydíjon az összes pilóta sokat bajlódott a gumikkal, és mindenki az átlagosnál többször járt a bokszban, de Timo Glock úgy is ötször volt kint szerelőinél, hogy 20 körrel a leintés előtt kiállt a versenyből. A Virgin Racing másik pilótáját, Lucas di Grassit is műszaki hiba hátráltatta, de ő legalább elvergődött a célig.
"Őrült verseny volt. A rajtom rendben volt, de aztán a kilences kanyarban Bruno Senna hátulról nekem jött, és a karosszéria sérülése miatt sokat vesztettem a leszorítóerőből majd ki is csúsztam. A mezőny végéről megpróbáltam visszakapaszkodni, de a gumikkal probléma volt, így kímélnem kellett azokat. A bokszkiállásaink nagyon gyorsak voltak - mind az öt. A kormányszervo azonban sajnos meghibásodott és 20 körrel a leintés előtt ki kellett állnom. Nagyszerű volt újra Kanadában vezetni. A verseny kemény volt, de reméljük, hogy Valenciában jobban alakulnak majd számunkra a dolgok."

"A really crazy race all round. I had an okay start but then in turn eight Bruno Senna crashed into the back of my car, which destroyed the rear of the car and cost me a lot of downforce, as well as pushing me off the track which put me last. I tried to catch up but the problems we anticipated with the tyres started early on and our main focus was preserving the tyres. The pit stops were very quick - all five of them! - and the team did a great job. But then I had a steering rack leak ten laps before the end and my race was over. Generally, as great as it is to be back racing in Canada, it has been a tough weekend here for us and we hope for better things in Valencia in two weeks' time."
John Booth, Team Principal: "Our debut Canadian Grand Prix has been a challenging one, but we have enjoyed the experience and learned a lot from it. Today the team executed an incredible eight pit stops to cope with the tyre issues we were experiencing and each one was slick and fast, so congratulations to our pit stop crew who have now had enough practice for this race and the next! With Timo's race over, Lucas did a great job to nurse his car to the chequered flag to ensure we were able to take away some reward from a tough weekend. So it's onwards and upwards now as we head back to Europe for the second half of the season."
Nick Wirth, Technical Director: "For us, the worse-case tyre degradation that we planned for occurred, and the team did an unprecedented eight pit stops, all very smoothly. We came out of the first lap in reasonable shape but unfortunately Timo had been hit from behind which cost him over 10% of his downforce, mainly at the rear. With rear tyre degradation as the dominant factor, his possibility of being competitive was effectively over and he had to do a number of very short stints and cope with this issue. Lucas had a smoother run and did a great job running the low-downforce setup. We had a steering rack leak that stopped Timo and we saw a drop in hydraulic pressure on Lucas's car with about 10 laps to go, so we elected to cruise to the end to ensure that we leave Montreal finishing one car like the other two new teams. The rack leak is unfortunate but easy to remedy and we'll set about solving Lucas's issue once it's been identified.
"The whole Canadian GP experience has been very enlightening and gives us a lot of useful information for the other lower downforce races to come. Meanwhile, we're all looking forward to deploying some significant performance upgrades during the next two GP's whilst we continue to improve our reliability."

"It was quite a difficult session for us today. Because of the problems we had yesterday the car wasn't perfect but we did made quite a nice step overnight which got us close to Lotus today. The car is still quite difficult to drive over the kerbs and bumps but reverting to a higher downforce set-up was the right direction. We will look at the strategy and see how we can make the most of tomorrow's race."
